1. Do I need a spectrophotometer to use Coloris ?
It is strongly advised to be equipped with a spectrophotometer. We recommend personally the use of ColorMunki Photo, i1 Studio or i1 Pro 1 or 2.
You will find at retailer’s of equipments X-Rite or with some photocopiers equipped with Print Control Software (RIP).
This photocopiers come with XRite I1 Pro spectrophotometers.
These spectrophotometers are intended for the calibration of the photocopier.
XRite Colormunki or I1 Studio spectrophotometers are cheaper than XRite I1 Pro but are enough to measure color samples and create profiles for your printer.
the Colormunki used with the Color ruler will allow you to read the same target as the i1 Pro.
2. Does the software works online ?
Yes, the software is designed to work without internet connection. Some features can be unavailable however. If you opted for a monthly subscription you will also have to connect in internet at the end of the month to verify the validity of your subscription, otherwise the software will be blocked.
3. Does the software run on Windows ? Mac ? Linux ?
Coloris is available for version of Windows 7 / Server on 2008 R2 or higher.
Coloris is also available on Mac from the version 10.11.6.
Linux is not supported currently.
4. Which languages are supported ?
English, French and German are available. A Russian version should soon come out.
PS: Feel free to contact us if you want to translate Coloris in your own languages, we only needs translators ?
5. How does the subscription system works ?
You will first need to create an user account. The subscription you pay for will be linked to this account. As long as your subscription will be active, you will be able to use Coloris. Once the subscription will come to end, the software will stop working. To unlock it again, you will only have to renew your subscription.
Every files and saves are kept between two subscriptions.
6. Is Coloris locked to a spectrophotometer ?
Coloris is fully independant of spectrophotometer and won’t lock anything. You can use spectrophotometers from X-Rite, EFI or XEROX without worrying.
